Santa Barbara is a couple hours northwest of Los Angeles. We stayed overnight in December 2008.
Mission Santa Barbara
The Mission in Santa Barbara was the tenth of the California missions established in 1786 by the Spanish Franciscans. it was completed a couple years after Father Junipero Serra died - he had founded the first nine of the 21 missions.
County Courthouse
The Santa Barbara County Courthouse was built just after an earthquake in 1925 ruined much of Santa Barbara. We ended up spending about an hour wandering around the building.
Stearns Wharf
Stearns Wharf is at the end of State Street. It was built in 1872 and has survived several storms and large fires.
